Brandon is a working technician at Lykon Automotive in Bristol, Pa., who specializes in drivability and diagnostics issues. He began his career at Northampton County Community College in Bethlehem, Pa. He was a student of GM’s Automotive Service Educational Program and in 2001, he graduated at the top of his class, earning the GM Leadership Award for his efforts.

He has worked in the field for more than 18 years and holds ASE certifications for A1-A9, X1, L1, L2 and L3 and C1. He is a GM ASEP Certified Technician, SATURN Certified Master Technician and a Honda Factory Certified Master Technician.

Brandon serves as Motor Age Technical Editor, beta tests diagnostic equipment for multiple automotive tool companies and teaches for both CarQuest Technical Institute and WorldPAC.

G has more than 44 years’ experience in the automotive field as a technician, service manager, shop owner and automotive instructor. A long-time contributing technical editor for PTEN and Motor Age, G brings the real world shop experience to his training.

He is recognized by the U.S. EPA as one of the foremost OBD II experts, technicians and trainers in the country. He achieved National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification, won a Golden Wrench Award and is one of 1,900 ever to be certified as a "World Class Technician". G has provided automotive training to the United States Marine Corps in Okinawa, Japan, and has worked for Peugeot in France, ATRA in Australia, ASA, ASA-CA (Instructor of the Year Award), ASA-KC and various colleges and trade schools.

"G" has extensive experience in the automotive field as a technician, service manager, shop owner of 12 different repair shops. He was a senior curriculum developer who provides training programs for automotive and truck inspection and repair programs. He developed the Massachusetts inspection manual for heavy-duty vehicles that was approved by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. He also developed and provided on-board diagnostic system (OBD II) and automotive training for the states of Alaska, California, Connecticut, Ohio, Oregon, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Texas, Virginia, and Wisconsin and Ontario, Canada, and the US Environmental Protection Agency.

Pete Meier is an ASE certified Master Technician with over 40 years of practical experience as a technician and educator, covering a wide variety of makes and models. He began writing for Motor Age as a contributor in 2006, joined the magazine fulltime as Technical Editor in 2010, and now serves as Group Technical Editor and Director of Training. He is committed to the mission of the magazine to “advance the automotive professional” and provides resources to working techs around the country through print, webcasts, social media and YouTube.

Catch a full day of automotive training on November 14th, 2020 at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Chicago in Rosemont, IL. The event includes three classes focused on diagnostics and drivability issues.
